She currently lives in manila, i live in U.S. any good gift ideas? i know she likes winnie the Pooh(disney) and Lotions and Candles. but anything you can think of thats original to the U.S. that you can't get in the Philippines? also some gifts for her mother and brothers/sisters? all low priced items as i am not rich :) thanks!

the best gift is yourself..just present yourself to her and spend time together to get to know each other better.you don't need to give her something just to please her.but if you'd really like to give a present to her,you can give her chocolates…it is a sign of sweetness.:)

chocolates are always good. when someone sends us chocolates we always appreciate it. (not unless her family has high sugar levels.) hmm.. what else..

if you want originality in your gifts, you can give your girlfriend victoria's secret underwears.. it costs a lot here and i heard it doesn't cost that much there.

for her mother, perfume would be good. as for her siblings, rubbershoes would do the job.

Big bath towels in USA are cheap – I live in Thailand and they worked real well for me.. but probably what she wants most is a fiance visa – huh? – but you know that – right?

For your girl chocolate and some American clothes. The ordinary sweets in general the Filipinos find too sweet. Some things for her hair. Marks and Spencers stuff goes down really well. Could you find her a Pooh Bear Nightie case?
For mama Oil of Ulay, and some nice perfumed soap.
For the siblings some general items, soap, disposable razors, combs, wallets, purses as in coin purses.
Oh and save lots of plastic carrier bags with obvious US store names on them.
    Enjoy your trip.

This is the first gift that you will be giving to her in person, it has to be very special..something that won't wear out or break, not consumable..something that will last forever! How about a gold or silver necklace??? Paired with a nice box of chocolate.

My then bf (husband now) also gave me a necklace for his first gift and he put it around my neck for me. It was sooo romantic! I felt like I was the girl in the novels or movies.. That was 3 years ago but remembering that moment still makes my heart skip a beat. It's definitely one of my best moments with him.

Buy her mother a neat but cheap bath set containing perfumed soap, lotion, shampoo, powder etc.. Same for the sisters if they are 20 years above, just choose a different bath set. For the brothers, a branded but cheap wrist watch will be great! Also baseball hats with your state written on it will be good. Guys will love shirts too if you know their size. The trick is to find a store on sale.

Don't forget the chocolates for everybody, any kind of cheap chocolates will be the best here. You can also give chocolates to the rest of the relatives, that's all they will hope for.

The best gift you can offer her is a tolerant demeanor whenever you will be presented with the strange sights and sounds of a very different culture and people. You will initially be shocked at the differences. So resist the American tendency to whine and complain about every little thing. Never refuse something that is offered you and always show your appreciation and deference for their courtesy. Following these simple rules will get you far with them–much more so than a bag of Butterfingers.
